Biography - EDWARD McC. MOORE

Edw. McC. Moore, the oldest son of Abram H. and Mary E. Moore was born at the home of his father, three miles west of Arcola, Bourbon township, Douglas county, Illinois, October 20, 1865. He secured his education in the neighborhood schools. At the age of sixteen years Mr. Moore left school on account of the death of his father and took charge of the farm, and he has been successful as a farmer, stock raiser and feeder. In 1893 he was married to Miss Lena Kelley, a daughter of Mr. Benjamin Kelley, who was an early settler in Moultrie county, from Kentucky. At present he spends most of his time among his children, in Florida, California, Kansas, Washington, Nebraska and Illinois. To Mr. and Mrs. Moore two very interesting children have been born: Albert Henry and Mary Vivian. Mr. Moore owns two hundred and sixty acres of well improved land, and has had some experience in office. He is of good moral character and his friends are many.
