Biography - WILLIAM S. HAMMETT
William S. Hammett, retired farmer residing in Tuscola, was born in Montgomery county, Virginia, December 9, 1823, and is a son of John Hammett (see sketch of James R. Hammett). He came with his father from Bourbon county, Kentucky, in 1829. He was for many years a leading farmer of Camargo township and prominent in the early affairs of the county.
